Infinity Consulting Rebuild

DeliveredInfinity Consulting, Colombo

A consulting firm's website rebuilt from a 1.77 MB homepage with a blocked hero image to about 125 kB, with a pre-launch checklist that caught what the old site never had.

The rebuilt Infinity Consulting homepage: a headline about consulting that ends with your team able to run it, and a photograph of Colombo's business district.

The problem

The old site looked finished and was not. Measured on the live homepage:

  • the hero image was a stock photo of Kuala Lumpur, served over http:// on an https:// page, so browsers blocked it and the hero showed as a flat grey block;
  • 14 elements were stuck at opacity: 0, so scrolling produced blank white screens;
  • there was no <h1> and no meta description;
  • there was 1.48 MB of CSS across 8 files, 14 jQuery and Elementor bundles, and five typefaces.

The constraint

Keep the firm’s content. Sort out the facts, because the site listed five conflicting phone numbers. Launch with a contact form that works, without a backend to run.

The decision

A pre-launch checklist rather than a redesign brief.

  1. Contact form. The form opens the visitor’s email app with the enquiry already written, and switches to a real endpoint the moment one is configured.
  2. Data consistency audit. Every phone number, address and claim checked against the others, and counters such as “200+ Strategies” removed, because strategies are not a countable thing.
  3. SEO. One <h1> per page, a meta description on every page, real headings, and a Colombo hero image that is actually Colombo.

The rebuild itself is static: CSS inlined, two self-hosted subset fonts, no JavaScript on seven of the eight pages, and AVIF images with a portrait crop for phones.

The outcome

Measure Before After
Homepage transfer 1.77 MB, 38 requests about 125 kB, 8 requests
Typefaces 5 2

Content stuck at opacity: 0 14 elements 0

Every “after” figure is checked by the build, not by eye.
